Ideas shaped carefully, then drawn with precision.
Design Atelier is selective light design support for ideas that need to be clarified, drawn, modeled, or prepared for discussion. It may include furniture concepts, interior pieces, floor plans, diagrams, CAD drafting, physical sketches, models, and project documentation. Every project begins with a conversation about what you actually need, then moves into drawings, studies, or files only after the scope is understood.
Furniture concepts, decorative objects, built-ins, spatial ideas, and interior pieces designed around a specific space, brief, or need. This is the Atelier side of the work: no catalogue, no stock package, no drawing before the problem is understood.
Best for custom seating, tables, shelving, storage, lighting ideas, feature walls, room concepts, and one-off pieces that need design direction.
Pricing reflects complexity, number of studies, level of detail, and whether technical documentation is needed.
Clean, dimensioned technical drawings for objects, furniture, assemblies, diagrams, and project documentation. Drawn to scale and delivered in the format the work needs, including PDF, DWG, or DXF when appropriate.
May include front, side, and top views; sections; annotations; redlines; file cleanup; conversion; and builder or fabricator reference drawings.
Final pricing depends on complexity, number of components, source material, and required drawing standard.
Measured floor plans, furniture layouts, interior elevations, planning diagrams, and schematic drawings for spaces that need to be understood clearly. Useful for renovation planning, furniture arrangement, project communication, or keeping a precise record of a room.
Measurements can be provided digitally, taken from existing references, or gathered on site when available in the Ann Arbor area.
The $150 floor-plan starting point assumes clear provided measurements or simple references. On-site measuring, unclear source material, larger areas, or added elevations may require a higher quote.
Hand sketches, study drawings, physical or digital models, mockups, concept boards, and visual planning support for projects that need to be seen before they are finalized. This can stay loose and exploratory or become part of a more complete design package.
Best for early ideas, object studies, spatial questions, presentations, portfolio documentation, and projects where a drawing alone is not enough.
Materials, printing, specialty supplies, and outside fabrication are billed separately when applicable.
A written direction before work begins, including what will be produced, how it will be used, and what is outside the scope.
PDF as standard. DWG, DXF, images, study files, or presentation materials available when the project calls for them.
Dimensioned, annotated, and drawn to scale when technical documentation is part of the work.
One review round included unless quoted otherwise. Additional revisions can be added hourly or by updated scope.
Drawings are prepared for planning, communication, study, or fabrication reference unless otherwise agreed. Permit, engineering, or construction-ready documents may require outside professional review.
Accuracy depends on the quality of measurements, references, site information, and project details provided.
Homeowners, renters, makers, independent builders, and small project teams who need an idea clarified before it becomes a purchase, build, room plan, drawing set, model, or presentation. Good fits include custom furniture concepts, built-in ideas, object drawings, measured plans, technical diagrams, room layouts, material direction, and projects that need both design sensitivity and precise documentation.
Design Atelier work is accepted selectively. Pricing is discussed before work begins, and no payment is expected until the scope is agreed in full.
